Levels for the principals were very good and the balance between the actors and Orchestra was good throughout the evening. I think I even detected the level going up a notch as Damian Hurley launched into “I Come to Wive it Wealthily in Padua”.
Sound Effects such as Gunshots from Paul Laycock’s character, the Whip-Cracks from Mr. Hurley’s Fred and the Wedding Bells at the end of the night were all well timed while the incessant sound of crockery and tankards being flung around at one point when Lilli was in a rage off-stage, all added to the atmosphere of the scene.
I also appreciated the Birdsong, the Police Sirens in the city and the music from the Baltimore Theatre Orchestra relayed through the sound system at various points during the performance.

This was a clean night for Vinny Osborn’s sound desk. Individual levels were well set while the balance between the stage and the musicians on their lofty perch was well struck and maintained.
Perfectly cued effects such as the ship’s horn which sounded twice before the boat sailed, the yelping of Evangeline’s dog, the splash as the mutt went into the swimming pool and the sound of the bottle breaking over the Chinese guy’s head as Billy felled him in the brig also added to Ms McCann’s overall production.

Sound by Vinny Osborne created an even sound which added greatly to this show. Things were well in order here with a warm tone and bloom to the voices giving a natural hue. Very good attention to detail. Liked the FXs used especially the dialing of the telephone number. First time I didn’t jump out of my seat with gunshots. Thank you!
